Maj. Gen. (USAF, Ret) Earnest O. Robbins II, BSCE 1969, has been appointed President at Parsons MENA+ (Middle East, North Africa, and the northern Mediterranean Sea border countries). General Robbins joined Parsons in 2003 upon retirement from 34 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. His last military assignment was as the Air Force Civil Engineer, Headquarters U.S. Air Force at the Pentagon.
Carlos Cabrera, BSChE 1973, has been named to the board of directors of Gevo, a renewable chemicals and biofuels company. He is the former chairman, president and CEO of UOP LLC. Since retiring in 2009, he has been appointed by the Chinese government as the first president and CEO of a new institute focused on the coal-to-energy and chemicals supply chain to reduce the environmental impact and carbon footprint of the full process chain.
Bruce Kraeuter, MSChE 1973, was appointed to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Water Sector Coordinating Council, one of ten sector councils that address the safety of the nation’s critical infrastructure. He works as senior vice president of planning and engineering at Artesian Resources and resides in Newark, Delaware.
Al Yager, BSCE 1976, was installed as the chairman of the board of the Kentucky Association of Highway Contractors. He also is serving another term on the board of the Plantmix Asphalt Association of Kentucky and was that association’s president in 1999.
He is part owner and vice president of Yager Materials LLC. He resides in Owensboro, Ky.
Mike Hancock, BSCE 1978, is secretary of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. He was recently appointed to serve on the executive committee of the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies. He was also elected president of the Southeastern Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials where he will serve a one-year term. He resides in Frankfort, Ky.
Ashok Agrawal, BSMNG 1979, was selected by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation to serve a two-year term on its board of directors effective January 1, 2011. He is the vice president for academic affairs at St. Louis Community College in Florissant Valley, Mo.
Mike Kaler, BSChE 1980, a Tennessee Valley Authority employee for more than 30 years, has been named plant manager at TVA’s Shawnee Fossil Plant. He has spent 28 years at Shawnee in various positions, including manager of engineering, outage and maintenance, before becoming plant manager. He resides in Benton, Ky.
James R. Renfro, BSChE 1980, is chief executive officer and president of Brazos International Exploration, Inc. He has over 25 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. He resides in Dallas, Texas.

David Malone, BSME 1983, is chief technology officer for Shoaibi Group. Prior to joining Shoaibi Group, he worked at Schlumberger for more than 26 years. He was recently appointed as a board member at The Artificial Lift Company Ltd., a leading artificial lift service company in the oil and gas industry.
Mark Mellinger, BSCE 1983, was recently named vice president of international sales at Burroughs Payment Systems to manage sales in Europe, Asia and Latin America. He had been director of commercial sales for Lexmark International.

She built the system that ensures all the elements of the fireworks display are ready, as well as the televised “Thundernator” display. She also coordinates all the audio tracks so they’re in sync with the show. She resides in Louisville.
